Sticking plastic to glass could not be simpler

Decoupage first became popular in 19th century Europe. The process involves cutting out paper designs which are glued and sealed onto object surfaces. Furniture and other home objects decorated with this technique may appear to be hand painted, but are actually embellished with decoupage papers. It was sometimes called a poor man's art since no professional artist was hired to paint the design onto the furniture. Today decoupage continues in popularity because of its ease in creating original furniture, home accents and glassware, including wine glasses.

Space-age technology has made all sorts of things possible, from home repairs that used to require a contractor, to crafts that demanded an artisan. One of the most fun advances has been in the science of how to stick things to other things. If you are trying to glue plastic to glass, you are in luck. Whether you are reattaching a rear-view mirror or making beaded glass ornaments or gifts, there is an adhesive made just for you. Sticking plastic to glass could not be simpler.

instead of paying a company to customize wine glasses and other glassware, personalize your own pieces with paints. Stripes, dots, monograms and hand-painted images transform even the most basic glassware into a gift or a custom creation for your home. If you're painting on glassware that you plan to use, limit the paint to the outside of the glass and keep it well away from the rim so it doesn't come into contact with lips or beverages; the paint is not designed to be food-safe or edible.
